Does my business need Office 365?

We go over what Office 365 is, break down the specifications, and what it can offer you and your business from an IT consulting perspective.

What is Office 365?

Office 365 is a set of cloud services for personal, business, or educational use. It offers the usual Office applications, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher, and Access. It bundles a number of Microsoft services, depending on the service package you choose.

Basic Office 365 Specs

  • You get the latest Office apps, which include desktop and online versions.

  • Always up-to-date--- no need to wait every few years for the latest upgrades, as well as bug fixes.

  • Syncs across multiple devices: desktop, tablet, and phone.

  • Cloud based services make it easier to collaborate and share files.

  • Simplifies migration, regardless of the storage tools you currently use.

  • Offers data protection and backup. Office 365 Trust Center is where you can learn more about their commitment to security, privacy, and compliance.

As we noted, there are multiple Office 365 packages depending on your needs. They are broken down between home, business, and education. With Office 365 for Business, there are even more solutions that can be added in addition to the above specs. Microsoft offers three different packages for Business, with the largest package, Business Premium, supports up to 300 users. It also provides Outlook, OneDrive Storage, Skype connectivity, Intranet, and instant messaging.

Office 365 grows with your business. Even if you're a small company with less than 10 employees, if you're looking for a low-level package with the Office Suite "basics" (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Office 365 will have you covered.
